Opium Black - Pain & Discipline Mixtape Download

This is for my shooters.

Four pound, nine milli pump with the rugers,

slump a n*gga down silly dump on the cruisers,

the police scared so they call State Troopers,

I guess they aint prepared for the murderers....

 -Werewolf

Pain and Discipline, the fresh all-original music street album from Opium Black hits the streets this weekend. Opium Black devotees can testify to it's early circulation on the web via social networks and certain teaser blogs, but the roll out officially begins!

Straight from the DJ Infidel cinematic intro, Opium sets the tone for a hard hitting display of rugged street anthems, savvy radio and album-ready ditties set to top-notch production from the likes of Broadcast & Lou, DMS Beats, Snipes, Dirty Joker, SoDrumatic, Half Amazin & Basement Beats.

The heartfelt message to a fallen soldier featuring Akon, God Knows I Try has already been getting attention on the web in all the right places. Meanwhile, certain focus groups in the hood have been going berserk over Outside Hustling, a collaboration with Notey Extra & J. Gomes where your favorite verse may vary with each listen, as well as I'll Make it Back (After this Lick) and Superhero.

More cant-miss tracks include the title track and Git Ghetto Remix with next-gen St. Louis luminary Kenny Knox and Compton's Game in a tri-regional banger. Other notables: Taste that Money, Rubbaband Snap, Kiss the Girls and Werewolf, the above quoted street gem.

Pundits searching for the next generation of Hip hop torch bearers in the new decade might as well prepare to induct Opium Black into those rarefied ranks after a single listen. As Opium says, for the hustlers, the savages outside, fresh out the bing grinding from nothing to something in the wee "werewolf hours," the Pain and Discipline required to make it to the top has just met its soundtrack. This is the Hartford Brand of hardbody, and you need it.

The long awaited mixtape barrage begins!

Heist Radio Vol.1 features remixes and freestyles over instrumentals that have impacted radio over the last few months.  Notable selections include a flip of Ryan Leslie's She's Got Something, mixshow favorite Bracelet over Gucci Mane's hit Wasted, Death of Rappa Boi, Hammer Bang over Drake's Forever (shout out to Tulsa, OK and Wilmington, DE for showing this love), and The Fear of Opium, over  DJ Green Lantern's ominous production that originally featured one Nasir Jones. If you don't download the mixtape for any other reason, download it for that one freestyle. Some of the best hardbody spitting of 2009, bar none.

Also kudos go to DJ Infidel for the stylish packaging of the mixtape (seriously folks, he can make your mixtape sound 10x better) and the guests on the mixtape: J.Gomes (Waterbury, CT representer and brother of Minnesota Timberwolves Forward Ryan Gomes), Drizz and fresh New Haven, CT talent Mack Million.

The mixtape has already been in the streets since last week. Shout out to the Heist Street Team putting in work at Hot 93.7's annual Jingle Jam concert. Even E. Joox and Snipes made it down to Hartford from New York last weekend to help promote.

The Blitz Cometh

Full Eclipse/IMG/Bungalo/Universal Records are proud to announce the arrival of Opium Black's national debut single Out Da Hood, available on itunes and other music download services late, 2009.

Out Da hood is produced by the St Louis production team Basement Beats responsible for 30 million records sold, many of them with Derrty Ent artists, Nelly and Murphy Lee among others. The Grammy Award winning team has delivered hits such as Over and Over Again and  Shake your Tailfeather.

It also features R&B group Ahmir, dubbed "The most popular R&B group on youtube." They were featured in Billboard Magazine, who termed them as "They're next" in the write up. Critical buzz was accompanied by the group making it into the top 35 in NBC's nationally televised summer talent extravaganza, America's Got Talent.

The early summer 2009 mixtape Halfway Home still continues to gain interest, but appetites should be whetted in a major way by the release of Pain & Discipline Vol. 1, a new mixtape featuring all new music in late November. Artwork will be released soon for all forthcoming releases.
